The Ohio Independent Living Association
was formed out of necessity. The
necessity was our youth. Caregivers and
youth professionals realized that our youth
in care were emancipating and not having
the self-sufficiency skills needed to be
successful in the community.
The Ohio Independent Living Association is
a Nonprofit Corporation.
The Goals of OHILA
Our goal is to share with each other the
community services we use to help the
youth in and out of care. The resources
and needs differ around the state.
Networking and sharing what we know
allows us to learn innovative ways to better
serve our youth and address their needs
the best we can. We meet quarterly in
State meetings and in Regional meetings.
See our Calendar Page for meeting dates!!
We welcome all those who work with youth
in public and private sectors.
GETTING OUR WORD OUT
OHILA is dedicated to working with
relavant state, public and private agencies
on issues pertaining to services for
individuals who are or were once part of
the child welfare system. We do this by
creating and maintaining a statewide
network of information, services and
support to caregivers and professionals
working with such individuals.
About Us
"The only way of
finding the limits of the
possible is by going
beyond them into the
impossible."
